Mom's dal fry and Jeera rice

Ingredients
2 spoon urad dal
handful yellow moong dal
4 spoons tur dal
4 spoons chana dal
2 spoons raw peanuts

Method
- Soak for half an hour
- Chop 4 onions
- add soaked dal in cooker and put 1: 1.5 cups of water
- add chopped tomato in cooker as well
- add little salt
- After 1 whistle , simmer it and wait for 2nd whistle
- heat some oil in frying pan
- saute the chopped onion f0r 2-3 minutes
- add 1 tsp red chilli powder for 2-3 minutes
- add to cooked dal
- add half a lemon
- Add salt to taste

Vegetarian Tom ka gai

Ingredients:
2 teaspoons peanut oil
2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger root
1/4 cup chopped lemon grass
Spring onions sliced
2 teaspoons crushed red pepper
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground cumin1 skinless, boneless chicken breast -- thinly slicedSliced fried Tofu
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 cups bok choy, shredded
4 cups water
1 (10 ounce) can coconut milk1/4 cup fish sauce
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions:
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat peanut oil.
- Stir in garlic, ginger,lemon grass, red pepper, coriander and cumin and cook until fragrant, 2 minutes.
- Stir in
chickenTofu and onion and cook, stirring,until chicken is whiteand onion is translucent, 5 minutes. - Stir in bok choy and cook until it begins to wilt, 5 to 10 minutes. Stir in water, coconut milk, fish sauce and cilantro.
- Simmer until chicken is thoroughly cooked and flavors are well blended, 30 minutes.
